Cam Bynum’s $60M Signing Inspires Viral Dance

In his Colts debut new safety Camryn Bynum proved his worth with a key interception and another viral wacky dance.
For his fifth NFL season Filipino American safety Camryn Bynum will strengthen the Indianapolis Colts’ defense after four years of consistent playmaking for the Minnesota Vikings.
In his Colts debut versus the Miami Dolphins Bynum tallied two pass deflections and picked off quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in a dominant 33-8 season opening victory. He celebrated the interception with what can only be described as a pseudo-backside-sideways-worm dance.
He continued his run of celebrations in week 2 alongside Colts’ mascot Blue with a belly shake following his second pick of the season versus the Broncos.
Bynum’s intricately choreographed and generally bizarre viral dances had become a staple of Vikings games. Among them are allusions to movies White Chicks and The Parent Trap, as well as a parody of Australian breakdancer Raygun’s infamous Olympic performance.
Bynum’s infectious energy has produced more than just social media buzz. His four seasons with the Vikings included 8 interceptions, 28 pass deflections and 3 forced fumbles. His 2024 season may have been his best with 5 takeaways. Not bad for a 125th overall draft pick.
These successes earned him a four-year $60 million deal with the Colts, including an $18 million signing bonus. Free agency gave him a big step up from his four-year rookie deal totaling just over $4 million.
Bynum was drafted by the Vikings in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft after being a four-year starter at Cal and earning First-Team All-Pac-12 honors in his senior season. The Corona, California native is Filipino from his mother’s side. Bynum has held a flag football camp in the Philippines since 2023, the year he got married there in an off-shore ceremony.
