Lost's Kim Yun-Jin to Star in ABC's New Mistresses

Kim Yun-jun will star in the new ABC drama series Mistresses about four scandal-prone thirty-something women.

Kim Yun-jin, the actress who became famous as half of a mysterious Korean couple in the Lost TV series opposite Daniel Dae Kim, will play a lead in the new ABC drama series Mistresses, her management company announced Friday.

The series is a remake of a hit BBC series that aired from 2008 to 2010 about the loves and tribulations of a college foursome who reunite in their 30s. The series is created by Gossip Girl creator K.J. Steinberg and will likely be used to fill the gap left by the cancellation of Desperate Housewives. The series will begin shooting in late March to begin airing in summer of 2013.

“The casting process was pretty difficult and involved several meetings, auditions and camera tests,” Kim said. “I’m thrilled to get this part and it means a lot to me as I got through the tough competition. I would like to thank the producers and others involved in the program for supporting me.”

It was “like a miracle” to get the part, she said.

Kim will play a psychiatrist whose affair with a patient may have led to his death.

In addition to Kim, the cast includes Rochelle Aytes (The Forgotten), Jes Macallan and Erik Stocklin.

Kim was born in S. Korea on November 27, 1973. She was 10 when her family moved to the US where she grew up on Staten Island. In March of 2010 she married former manager Jeong Hyeok Park in Hawaii after shooting her final scenes for Lost.
